What is a PowerHog?
The PowerHog is a dynamic activated carbon vent
pipe filter. It is an active
filter, compared to the
passive nature of the standard OdorHog product.
The Powerhog has a small fan in the cap portion which draws the odors up and out of the septic system. The fan extracts 680 cubic feet of H2S per hour
(under normal working conditions).

The standard PowerHog uses solar cells to power a fan during daylight hours.
It is available in either PVC or ABS, just like the OdorHog No tools or glue needed to install -
it just slips right on the vent pipe on the roof. We recommend the ABS models for Northern US and
Canada where sub-zero temps are likely.

The PowerHog PLUS includes a rechargeable battery that will power the fan
for 48 hours without any sunlight. It
is available in either PVC or ABS, just like the OdorHog. No tools
or glue needed to install - it just slips right on the vent pipe on
the roof. We recommend the ABS models for Northern US and
Canada where sub-zero temps are likely.

Ordering and Shopping Notes:
- Every plumbing vent on the roof must have a filter in order to eliminate the septic odor. Gas will seek the path of least resistance and exit through un-filtered vents.
- Our roof vent filters will not cure indoor plumbing odors.

I purchased the solar model last spring. The vent odors had been drifting into open windows and across our pool area. I installed the solar model and the odors were gone immediately.
