An OdorHog will not work on inside plumbing odors. For sewer odors that are originating from the inside of the home, we recommend calling a Licensed Plumber. An OdorHog is strictly for filtering odors that originate from the vent pipes, whether it's on the roof or at the ground level, venting the septic tank. OdorHog solves this outdoor odor problem. If you install a filter on your vent pipe when you have an inside odor, it can force the sewer gas to backup inside your home. It's like putting a cork in your vent pipe and backing up all the...

WHAT SETS ODORHOG APART is the replaceable mesh bag inside the body, which contains high quality, pelletized carbon that is activated for the Hydrogen Sulfide molecule (that stinky odor).  Changing your carbon out has never been easier and can be done while the OdorHog remains on the vent pipe! Just remove the cap, pull the old carbon bag out by the handle, put the new bag in and put the cap back on. One trip up the ladder with a replacement bag does the job. Fresh carbon in minutes! With other brands, the change outs can become very messy if you...

The difference between the standard and commercial carbon is the base material the carbon is made from.   Standard carbon is made from a wood base and our commercial grade carbon is made from a coconut shell based carbon that has a higher sewer gas absorption capacity and is made for longer life. It is perfect for heavy hydrogen sulfide applications or for difficult access situations.  The commercial carbon is commonly used for restaurants, schools, strip malls, etc. It's also becoming more popular with residential customers who have steep pitched rooflines or don't want to change out their carbon as...

To ensure a proper fit, measure your vent pipe's outside diameter (O.D.) and use the following table. Vent Pipe Manufacturers size their pipe by the inside diameter (I.D.). Because OdorHogs fit over the outside of your vent pipe, we care what the outside diameter is. The O.D. you measure will be slightly larger than the actual filter size you order. This tells us whether you have a “standard thickness” of pipe and that your OdorHog will fit properly. If you have metal or cast iron pipes, be sure to order the clamp-on style so it has more flexibility in fitting your non-standard...

OdorHog Vent Pipe Filters now contain an ingredient that deters freezing  The additive is similar to salting your walk or driveway after a freeze or snow. It coats the carbon and keeps it from sticking together. This freeze preventer is now included in ALL OdorHog Vent Pipe Filters sold. If you live in a climate that has sustained below freezing temperatures you could experience freezing in the filter. We would recommend removing the units for the coldest months to prevent any issues. Another option would be to use our Inline Filters. These install below your roofline and would be protected from the...
